The IEDR is the registry for .ie Internet Domain Names and maintains the database of .ie registered Internet names. The IEDR (www.iedr.ie) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that manages the .ie country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) namespace in the public interest of the Irish and global Internet communities.

The IEDR perform the following tasks:-

    • The database associates Internet resources (addresses, domain names etc) to legal bodies (personified as contacts).
  • Update the ccTLD zone server
    • The .ie zone is updated through a process known as reloads/rebuilds.  There are 5 rebuilds per day, 365 days per year. The rebuild times are 10am, 12pm, 3pm, 5pm and 10pm.
